Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist I Location: Atlanta, GA | 100% Onsite
Pay: $24/hr

Join a leading medical device company specializing in orthopedic solutions that help patients recover from injury and improve mobility. We're seeking a detail-oriented HIM Specialist I to support medical records, documentation, and billing operations.
What You'll Do
- Obtain, review, scan, index, and organize patient medical records and supporting documentation.
- Navigate EMR systems to retrieve missing information needed for clean claim submission.
- Verify patient information and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
- Perform pre-scan validation of claims and supporting records.
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance when handling protected health information.
- Support medical billing, claims processing, and document management.
- Meet established productivity, accuracy, and processing goals.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical records, HIM, healthcare, or medical billing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and navigating patient records.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, web-based applications, and scanning systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment while maintaining confidentiality.
