Territory Sales Manager (Packaging Machinery)

Remote: Southwest (based in CA, NV, AZ or NM)

$100,000-$125,000 + Commissions (Realistic OTE: $180,000+)

Do you like the idea of earning commission on a territory where 50% of sales come through OEMs, with California OEM business bringing in $1.5M this fiscal year?

I'm working with an established manufacturer of automatic weighing, check-weighing and packaging equipment used across the food and industrial sectors.

They're looking for an experienced Territory Sales Manager to own California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.

Around half of the territory's business comes from direct sales to end users, and the other half from managing and supporting OEMs and independent reps. That balance means you'll be developing your own customer relationships while also getting the most out of an established partner network, with real scope to grow both.

What You'll Do:

• Developing sales across California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.
• Growing direct end-user business, which makes up around 50% of territory revenue.
• Managing and supporting OEMs and independent reps, who drive the other 50%.
• Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through technical discussions, proposals and closing.
• Using a consultative, solution-led sales approach to understand customer problems and recommend the correct equipment.
• Conducting customer visits, presentations, equipment demonstrations and product testing.
• Collaborating with applications engineering, project management, service and marketing teams.
• Managing your pipeline, opportunities and forecasts accurately through Salesforce.
• Representing the business at trade shows, customer events and industry exhibitions.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of successful sales experience within capital equipment, packaging machinery or a related technical industry.
• Experience selling packaging equipment, food-processing machinery, check-weighers, industrial scales or similar engineered solutions would be particularly relevant.
• A proven ability to develop a territory, manage complex sales cycles and close high-value equipment orders.
• Experience managing OEM relationships or independent rep networks alongside your own direct sales.
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to discuss technologies - not just read a brochure.
• Confidence managing forecasts, sales activity and opportunity data within Salesforce or a similar CRM.
• You must be based in California, Nevada, Arizona or New Mexico, work independently, and travel 50% of the time.
